After what seems like ages of renovations, Washington Square Park is back to its glorious self with fountain turned on and parkgoers enjoying the lack of construction material in the way.

A tipster told Curbed, which has more photographs, "It's all very pretty, and clean -- but it looks like the local dogs will take care of that pronto. Nothing like days of yore (yet). Neither a guitar nor blunt in sight."

hah! unlikely - the good stuff is by the chess tables. Welcome back WSP, my long-missed lover!

Thank goodness the fountain finally lines up with the arch! Well worth all the time, energy and money. Nothing worse than a water feature off center by a few feet.

The park looks so much better now. It's actually NICE. But you know, some people want all of New York to stay a shit hole.

there were plenty of ways to clean up the park without unnecessarily spending the money to move the fountain

Not to mention disturbing all those graves underneath. WSP gives me the creeps knowing there are hundreds of bodies lying just a few feet underneath.

That is beautiful! Finally, there's something in the city that we don't have to be ashamed because of decades of rampant negligence (as the rest of the city rots around us).

Now let's get started on the subways. Oops! I forgot, the pols can't see them because they're underground and out of sight! How about the cabs? Oops! I forgot, the pols are driven around in vehicles provided by the city. Silly me . . .

Wait...how does this lower the crime rate, improve the schools, or help the transit infrastructure?! OOOH...PRETTY! AND SYMMETRICAL! Thank Christ we didn't waste that money on the working people of the city!
