A few hours ago, F train service was suspended between Avenue X and Church Avenue due to falling debris at an elevated subway station. WABC 7 reports, "The problem started around 5 a.m. this morning when a 4x8 piece of the platform became loose and collapsed down below at the 18th Avenue Station." The transit authority "took out the remainder of the loose concrete, while engineers examined the structural integrity of the platform." Manhattan-bound service resumed, but Coney Island-ound service is skipping 18th Avenue.

Bailout money is coming just in time! The platforms are falling apart...
Does anyone know why the F train wasn't running yesterday morning?
Because it sucks. It's the subway line that time forgot.

I thought so...
I get really annoyed at douchebags who insist on wearing their backpacks even when its packed in the cars, like the last two morning on the F train.
Also annoying are people who for some dumbass reason don't realize it's their stop, and wait for 2 minutes before getting out of the train.
/end rant
What about the douche who insisted on reading in the ridiculously packed car this AM? And when the train moved, pressed his palm against the roof of the car, thereby thrusting his armpit into my face? I read on the train EVERY DAY, but when it's too crowded I don't, out of courtesy to other passengers. Take your f**king backpack off, fold your newspaper, etc, you selfish douche-nozzle.
i'm sure with all that extra $$$ from the fare hike the MTA will get right to vamping up all the platforms. and i have full confidence they'll fix that whole pesky "falling debris" problem in a jiffy!
what do you expect, the whole system is being held up by band aids and 2x4s
Check this out. theoldestevan.blogspot.com/2009/04/mta-repairs.html It's an MTA escalator literally held together by duct tape. It makes you wonder where all the money is going...
That's scary. Imagine if you had been standing right next to that part of the platform when it went.
Holy shit! That used to be my train station.
I can remember walking along the platform and being able to feel the sections of flooring shift under my feet as I walked. That's not a good feeling to have when you're fifty-sixty feet above a busy road.
That section of platform had been waiting all day. Where the hell were you?
I'm sooooo glad I avoided the F train today and yesterday and biked to work. I encounter a heck of a lot of douchebags on the road, but I since I can roll away from them I don't have to be bothered with them about them for very long.
Being trapped in the train and dealing with MTA employees and passengers. . .UGGGGHH!
