Mad Mom Who Kicked Kids From Car Will Not Be Charged

050709madmom.jpg The Scarsdale mother who was arrested after abandoning her two daughters, ages 10 and 12, on a sidewalk three miles from their home last month will not be charged with child endangerment, a White Plains judge decided today. Speaking to the press for the first time outside the court house, Madlyn Primoff said, "Clearly I made a mistake, but I truly love our children and I know that I am a good parent." Primoff was pilloried by mothers as far away as Australia after the infamous incident, but today her lawyer explained that she did not intend to leave her children to walk home. Fed up with their bickering, she had merely ejected them from the car as a bluff while she drove around the block. But when she returned, they were gone! She soon found the 12-year-old, but the distraught younger girl had been taken in by a Good Samaritan, who alerted police. Prosecutor Audrey Stone said Primoff was "engaged in family therapy" and posed no threat to her children, so Judge Eric Press agreed to dismiss the case and seal it in six months if Primoff behaves.

Don't knock Madlyn Primoff! I hope this teaches her kids not to bicker in the car. I hope she never lets her 12 year old live this one down, too. Dang. It's heartening to know that serious crimes like this one are being punished with taxpayer dollars in New York state while meanwhile I see 13 and 14 year old's ditching school every day of the week in my neighborhood.

I would have cited her for "excessive uglying in a No Ugly Zone".

...further evidence found that the kids were fucking brats.

Sometime you have to kick your kids out of the car. It's pretty funny that the 12 year old abandoned the 10 year.

    Primoff.

    Madoff.

    Markoff.

    Enoff!

No, that's not what I said. What we have here is an error in judgement. This no junkie or drunk leaving a child locked in a car so she could get high. Put it in perspective. The publicity is the punishment.

The judge may seal the case but so what? It will live on the internet forever. For the rest of her life anyone who googles her will know about it.

Don't crucify me, but I have to say that I didn't think it was a big deal, they were close to home after all. I think as a mother, we all have been almost to or at that point. I read an article that mirrors my feelings here:

I think the judge made the right decision too.

  • Seriously, I'd do the same thing. Better kick them out and drive around the block to cool off than to beat the crap outta them.

I agree. We made a big stink when parents let kids get away with murder, and we make a stink when parents lay down the law. They weren't tossed out on the BQE. Come on.

ITA. I have no problem with her making the brats walk home. The only issue I see is the kid getting into a stranger's car. That concerns me. A ten year old should know better.

I'm just happy that we have one of the scarier mug shots ever on file

  • Mr Mel

She didn't slam them against a wall. She didn't shake them vigorously. She didn't burn them with cigarettes. She didn't beat them mercilessly. She made an error in judgement which she'll regret forever. The Judge made the right decision.

  • So basically, doing a terrible thing is okay because it wasn't a worse thing.

    That is so cool!

  • nicemarmot

I'd throw her in jail for failing to teach her daughter not to get in strangers' cars! She's 10, she should know better!

If I was married to that woman and had to face that face every afternoon after a hard day's work, I would definitely plea to be left on the sidewalk and pray she will drive away, never to return.

  • moocowtoo

I'm surprised they didn't arrest her for that haircut.

  • FunChop

the law don't mean shit if you got the right friends.

    I'm not surprise.
