Six Days and Counting

What do the first six days of May have in common? Weatherwise at least, it has rained on each of those days. The latest being a quarter inch that fell between midnight and 5 a.m. While we'll get a brief break from the rain today, more precipitation is on tap for tonight on into the weekend.

The stationary front that has given rise to all the rain is finally being pushed away by a storm moving up the Ohio Valley. The western track of the storm means temperatures will return to normal. Look for a mostly cloudy afternoon with a high around 68. Showers are likely to return this evening and there's a fair chance of a thunderstorm overnight. There's a lot of moisture with this next system so some of that rain could be heavy.

Speaking of rain, look for more tomorrow morning, tomorrow night, Friday and Saturday. The second half of the week will be warmer than the first. Highs for the next several days should be in the upper 60s or lower 70s. The sun is expected to return for dear old Mother's Day.

At this point I think you should have a daily ark building tip to go along with the weather report.
