Hell's Kitchen Gets Otterness Playground

otterness0409.jpg

Hey did you know Tom Otterness makes playgrounds? Just one of his many quirky hobbies. Curbed points out that the massive Silver Towers rising on Eleventh Avenue in Hell's Kitchen have launched a website, which promises future tenants an Otterness playground for the kiddies. But wait, this thing looks familiar! Yep, he's made that same playground before. In fact, if you've got the cash, he'll make one for you, too.

    Okay, Mr. Gothamist,

What is your "day job?" If I give you cash, will you write a snarky review for me too?

    This just seems below your level;

to pick on somebody for "making a living from his work."

Attention: NYC Personal Injury Law Firms:

Hand out your business cards here!

Kids burn their butts on hot slides!

Kids hit their heads on metal surfaces!

    I agree with Toby completely.

  • still seems cool to me. (style wise)

where is the dog hanging area? Not the place you hang out with dogs but the place that tom otterness likes to place nooses around a dog's neck to let them slowly asphxiate?

  • Clarice City

Making a doggie snuff film wasn't sadistic enough. He's going to step it up a notch and burn the asses off babies with his molten bronze playground.

I thought the disgusting scumbag shot dogs for "art". All of the scumbag's crap needs to be recycled into something useful and Otterness needs to be put into a small room with rabid unredemable pit bulls for several hours.

He killed a dog in the name of art. I just hope that he will create a sculpture in memory of that dog he sacrificed. Otherwise yeah it is kind of sick and shows lack of remorse.

  • That looks like it might get really hot on a sunny day.

I played on lots of metal playground stuff as a little kid and I don't remember it ever burning, just getting warm. Also looks like they planted a bunch of trees around it to deal with that very issue.

Now what's all this about the dog?

  • You haven't been on a Real Hot one. Silly-

And the comment about the Dog was in English so you should have NO trouble reading it. I know American Girlz only Know One Language I'm sorry about that.

I agree Jen. Just picturing the little childrens giggling and climbing and playing on this big, stiff metal man. It sounds thuper hot.

  • Yeah that will take the skin off little happy babies. Not a good Idea. it looks cool
