Lawyer Says Mad Mom Didn't Abandon Kids On Road

2009_04_madprim.jpg Here we go: Park Avenue lawyer Madlyn Primoff, who was arrested earlier this week after forcing her squabbling children out of the car and driving away, now has a lawyer telling the press, "She wasn't abandoning her children. She expected to find her children." See, Primhoff had dumped the kids in downtown White Plains and told them to walk the 3 miles home to Scarsdale—but apparently she didn't really mean it because she drove around the block and couldn't find them! Primhoff reportedly picked up her husband and then started looking again, finding only the 12-year-old. A good Samaritan picked up the remaining daughter, 10, and, after stopping at Carvel to cheer the girl up with some ice cream, took her to the White Plains police station. Meanwhile, Primoff called the Scarsdale police about her missing younger daughter; Scarsdale cops, who say that Primoff didn't explain how the child went missing, told Primoff the girl was with the White Plains police. Primoff, who spent the night in jail for the incident, is free on bail and heads back to court next month.

My parents used to do that too! One time my dad sat me on the hood of the car and threatened to drive away. I figure that's why I never got a drivers' license.

I hear there are no take backs for child abandonment.

Wow, you can get arrested for this? I wonder if I can have my parents retroactively arrested for the many, many times my brother and I were dropped off somewhere in our small midwestern town for backseat fighting and told to walk our asses home.

And now you're living here, writing excuses for psychopaths.

The only thing she is guilty of is not teaching her kids to stay together and to NOT GO WITH STRANGERS!! I'd be worried about that dopey 10 yr old and any older sister that didn't stay and protect the 10 yr old is a brat. I don't know if I would have dropped them where she did but I certainly have put my kid out of the car too. Course I traveled about 75 feet before stopping but....that's me.

Yeah I taught my kids go with strangers for ice cream too.

    Good Samaritan my ass.

Yeah, I might have a blip of an impulse to try and cheer the kid up, maybe even buy it an ice cream or soemthing, but you can be accused of anything when you have some other (crazy) person's kid in your car. Not worth the trouble. Just hang out with the kid by the side of the road and call the police right away.

How about arresting those parents (or single moms) that have five kids from six different dad (not husbands) while unemployed? They put their kids in more danger than this woman.

  • holyfrijole

How do you have 5 kids from 6 fathers? 6 kids from 5 fathers, maybe, but 5 from 6? Highly difficult, even for ghetto's best baby mamas.
