  • Washington 4 Rangers 0: John Tortorella did the right thing and benched Sean Avery, but it didn’t make a difference. New York was miserable on the ice, taking bad penalties, falling down, fanning on open nets and shockingly, inept in goal. Things got so bad that they pulled Henrik Lundqvist after two periods. But, New York has a chance to close out the series on Sunday. They has better take advantage of it.
  • Boston 5 Yankees 4 (11 Innings): Mariano Rivera was summoned into the game with one strike and two outs in the 8th. He got out of that inning, but he gave up a game-tying home run in the ninth and Kevin Youkilis hit a walkoff homer in the eleventh to give Boston the victory.
  • Mets 4 Washington 3: Johan Santana did what he always does for the Mets; he stopped a losing streak. Santana struck out 10 and only allowed a run as the Mets got back in the victory column. F-Rod made things interesting in the ninth, but he held on for the save.
