- Police were fired upon when they responded to calls of a dispute in Queens. WABC 7 reports the "movie-style shootout between police and a half dozen suspects" in Cambria Heights ended with the suspects taken into custody.
- State Senator Hiram Monserrate has hired Joseph Tacopina to defend him against assault charges. Tacopina's previous clients include Lillo Brancato Jr., Foxy Brown and Bernard Kerik.
