Police Shoot Man Pointing Gun At Them

2009_04_guns.jpg Last night, the police shot and wounded a man who apparently pointed his gun at them. The AP reports that plainclothes police officers heard or saw a shooting near DeKalb Avenue in Brooklyn's Clinton Hill neighborhood: "Police say the officers confronted the suspect, ordered him to drop his weapon and chased him as he ran off. They say the officers fired after he turned toward them with his gun in his hand." The suspect is in the hospital—and in police custody—while the victim of the earlier shooting is also in the hospital.

[Attempted] suicide by cop? You gotta wonder about the sanity of someone pointing a gun at multiple people with guns who actually go to the range once in a while.

This happened at DeKalb and Franklin Aves, which is in Bed Stuy. Clinton Hill ends at Classon Ave.

There were an unusual number of unfriendly-looking and unfamiliar guys hanging around on DeKalb yesterday afternoon around 6-7 pm, so I wonder what else was going on.

You are correct, unless you ask a broker! Apparently Nostrand Ave is now 'Clinton Hill prime'.
