Yankees 7, Rays 2: A.J. Burnett took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. Then he blew a 2-0 lead. But the Yankees got a run back in the top of the eighth and held off the Rays in the middle game of a three-game set. This was all after a 15-5 blowout loss on Monday. Nick Swisher, fresh off his scoreless inning in relief, hit a home run and a double to continue his scorching start. Mark Teixeira, playing for the first time since Saturday after missing time with tendinitis in his wrist, knocked in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Derek Jeter tacked on a three-run homer in the ninth.

I'm sure I speak for every sane human being when I say: screw the Yankees, and may they finish last in their division until the heat death of the sun.

Yes, that's right ... it was so important that I said it twice.
Go back to Boston, douchebag. You're in our city, have some damn respect.
Spoken like a true meathead Yankee fan. I am a native New Yorker and have grown to despise the Yankees entirely because of their lunkhead, garanimal-wearing, chest-thumping, wanna be guido fan base. Factor in a new taxpayer funded mausoleum they call the NEW Yankee Stadium and they are pretty fucking easy to hate...
I'm just a fan like any other team's fan, I just don't see a reason to randomly bash these guys every time anyone mentions them.
Why not randomly bash them? They are symbolic of one of the many aspects of greed and corruption in this city...
BTW -
I called this in a post earlier in the week, that the Isles would get the First Overall draft pick, and it wouldn't even be mentioned in the round up.
If the Rangers (hypothetically) finished in dead last, and were awarded the No. 1 overall pick, you can bet it would have been listed.
(though, as a stauch Isles fan, I have lingering doubts that they'll do this right; most likely they'll bungle the pick somehow!)
Thanks for posting this. It is very good news for the Islanders-provided they don't screw it up. Oh if the Rangers finished dead last there would be multiple articles documenting how they get jobbed by the refs...
