Video: Dan Aykroyd Tells Jersey Drinkers He's Seen UFOs

If providing the citizens of New Jersey with a new brand of vodka that comes packaged in a plastic skull wasn't enough to get them seeing stars, Dan Aykroyd has given local extraterrestrial believers some additional fuel to their speculative fire. While making a promotional appearance in Morris Plains in support of his new Crystal Head vodka, Aykroyd was asked about the recent UFO hoax in the Garden State. He said that he was glad to see the story because, as he put it, "It draws attention to the real cases. I've seen two of them."

Dan Aykroyd on NJ UFO hoax

Over 700 fans came out to meet the good-natured Aykroyd, who was willing to sign everything from Ghostbusters figures to golf clubs commemorating Caddyshack 2 (though no mention of any My Girl mood rings). One Blues Brothers fan said, "For me, honestly, it was the harmonica, it spoke to me."

Aykroyd also fueled some other paranormal speculation when asked about the much-talked about possibility of a Ghostbusters 3. The Daily Record reports the he told the crowd that "he wants to reunite the whole cast and enlist some 'new cadets' to fill out the ranks of younger Ghostbusters."

  • Actually the vodka comes in a glass bottle; not a plastic one. I've got two bottles of it. http://crystalheadvodka.com/

    The Vodka is fantastic.

  • At $41/bottle, I'd hope it's fantastic...and in a glass skull bottle.

I honestly thought it would be more per bottle. I need to get a bottle of this asap. It's the only Vodka I've enjoyed straight.

Small correction, the vodka comes in a glass skull not plastic. And its pretty smooth too, though maybe it would take the whole skull before I started seeing UFO's in Jersey.

Everyone knows Coneheads was an autobiographical film.

That's what I like about the UFO buffs: "sure, this one was proven to be nothing, but that just proves that all of them I have seen were real!"

  • that's the problem with everyone, they believe only what doesn't challenge them.
