New Brooklyn Flea Market to Feature Middle Eastern Food

0904fleas.jpg Will this site be home to the next wave of cheap outer borough eats? All will be answered later this month when a new flea market debuts in the 25,000 square foot space behind the Al-Noor School on 20th Street in Brooklyn.

The Greenwood Heights market is doing business as Park Slope Brooklyn Flea, which is also the name of a preexisting market at PS 321 in Park Slope. The new, completely separate flea will be open on Saturdays and Sundays and is still looking for vendors. Food is on the bill, too: Mohamed Toom, an organizer, tells The Brooklyn Paper that “food vendors — some of whom will hawk Middle Eastern grub,” will be plentiful.

Meanwhile, the one-year-old Brooklyn Flea is emerging from indoor “Pop-Up” winter operations in DUMBO and will reopen their Fort Greene location on April 18th. Brooklyn Flea regularly features pupusas and other treats from the Red Hook Ball Field Vendors, who are also making a return to Fort Greene. Director Cesar Fuentes told Serious Eats that a third location is in store for the vendors this season, the paperwork just hasn’t been signed, so he can’t reveal just where yet.

Hint: It’s a “historic Brooklyn location that will soon promise to be one of the most talked about events in NYC.” The Red Hook Vendors return to the ball fields on May 2nd. Look for Park Slope Brooklyn Flea Market to debut later this month.

If I'm understanding their website correctly, Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene will now be Saturdays, with Sundays in DUMBO

I can't wait to go to the Park Slope where everything will be insanely price because no one who lives there really needs the money and everyone thinks what they've got to sell is so f*ckin' WONDERFUL.

Pardon my poor proof-reading.
