Captain Sully Confirms: New Yankee Stadium Safe for Heroes

The near-capacity crowds watching the Yankees break in their new stadium may have only been seeing a couple of exhibition games before the season starts up tomorrow, but the team made sure to give fans some real bang for their buck, hitting a total of seven home runs between the two games. Yesterday's homers in the 10-1 win over the Cubs were exceptionally sweet since they included the first ones in the new park from Derek Jeter and the big off-season bat the Yankees added, Mark Teixeira—who hit two out of the park yesterday.

The new Yankee Stadium was hopefully christened with some good luck via the hero dust left behind by Captain Sully, who threw out the first pitch. MyFoxNY said, "His pitching wasn't as good as his piloting. The toss was a bit outside—but no one complained." The Yankees now try to take the second-best spring training record in baseball and use the momentum to carry over into the real thing with Opening Day in Baltimore tomorrow.

I actually thought there was some kind of air raid going on in the South Bronx, but it was just the Yankees hitting a home run.

Oh, yeah. Fantastic game and GREAT stadium.

Why no mention of the fact that the entire sound system blew out by the 5th inning and the rest of the game was conducted in complete silence?

It's really nice hearing that Captain Sully continues giving us good news, applying trained experiences to make simple or big actions; this is what this planet needs.
