Kid Brings Blade Into Third Grade

2009_03_kidknife.jpg A third-grader was given a superintendent's suspension today after bringing a knife into his East New York elementary school. The child was reprimanded after stashing the knife in a bathroom and telling classmates, who then told staff members. According to the News, parents claim that children at PS 345 "have created problems in the bathrooms, lunchroom and gym class, where students have jumped onto tables and thrown food or punches without consequences." Parents blame the principal for "keeping everything under the table," with one mother saying, "She's really failed us. I don't see her interact with the kids. She doesn't get involved with the parents." Even a teacher added, "It's not only safety. We're dealing with educational neglect." The Department of Education defended the Brooklyn principal, both in her handling of the incident as well as having no record of excessive discipline problems at the school.

"The Department of Education defended the Brooklyn principal...having no record of excessive discipline problems at the school."

hmmmm maybe because the discipline problems WEREN'T F*CKING REPORTED

excuse me, i'm gonna go bang my head against the wall now

The principal is at fault for a 3rd grader bringing a knife in!? What happened to the parents? ALWAYS have to pass off the blame to someone else. PATHETIC.

I have to think back to 3rd grade, i was 9, i can't imagine this kid doing it out of anything other than fear. I'm not saying it's ok, i'm just saying maybe the school isn't doing a very good job at making these kids feel safe.

Maybe the kid was set to meet up with George Weber after school?

..too soon?

Who knows. The more I learn about Weber's disgusting activities with teenage boys, the less sympathy I have for him.

i have no sympathy for him
play with fire get burned IMO

ENYers wouldn't be into death metal.

From Santa's List to Craigslist...

this is news because? kids bring weapons to school and get dealt with every single day.

Principal doesn't report because too much failure on paper and you get in trouble with the district. Obviously she needs to put more structure in place, which will make the kids wild out at first, but they'll respect it.

Cant blame her. shits getting tough
