Nando Casinelli's arm with "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" tattooed on it. He was admittedly not a huge Morrissey fan, but he loves The Smiths. (Jason Andra/Gothamist)
Morrissey has been touring his 49-year-old ass off as of late, most recently with a series of smaller shows, perhaps the most intimate being this past Saturday at Bowery Ballroom. There was some notable between-song banter, and Newsday has a Top Ten list of Moz quotes from the night, including "I’m the type who just can’t find love," and "Who am I? This is a question that many have died trying to answer...I can only be identified on a slab, by the scars of pain." (Aw, give this guy a hug if you see him around town.) He also made note of the high security at the venue, saying, "We’re like a jealously guarded can of sardines." Wonder if anyone found love in the audience.
Later this week he'll be playing both Webster and Carnegie Hall, and he referenced the neighborhood change in his banter at Bowery, saying, "In a few days, we will be in a posher part of town, so obviously none of you will be there. Nice meeting you." Don't take it personally, he probably just didn't want to get stoned again.

tickets were being scalped before they even went for sale. As a fan who can remember buying tickets on the day of the show, I miss the days when no liked Morrissey. sigh...
Probably the first time I've heard the Bowery Ballroom referred to as "intimate."
i wouldn't really call the bowery ballroom "intimate." it's a pretty big club.
The Bowery Ballroom is certainly intimate in relation to every other place Mozza plays. Gutted I missed out on tickets.
Yeah, because his shows at Wembley and Giants Stadium are instant sell outs...
Hey Morissey is great and he is vegan as me. Damn I need tickets.
i'm surprised that so many cameras got into his show
Morrissey has always and always will suck. I'd sooner slit a cat's throat and listen to it moan.
show the aging morrissey fans.
Tickets will be released at 5:00pm today on ticketmaster for the Webster Hall show. Just saying.
THANKS!!!!!

I just scored a set of tickets bitches. :0.
Not to be a dick, but I got tickets for the Bowery show from Ticketmaster the day of the show. They were available for about an hour at face value... wasn't that big of a deal...
An hour isn't so bad but still I scored something for once so I am happy about it. teehehe
