THEATER: An abandoned Liz Claiborne store down at the South Street Seaport seems a fitting location for a current revival of Moliere's Tartuffe, which sets the story of a con artist who swindles a rich family in Depression-era New York City. Produced by Dog Run Rep, this Tartuffe features a new adaptation (still in verse and rhyming couplets) that emphasizes a "particularly American idiom, transposing Moliere's social satire to its American equivalent." Martin Denton raves, "Even while it reminds us that greed is hardly a new phenomenon, this Tartuffe is so entertaining that it provides a welcome respite from the modern-day Tartuffes who seem constantly to be among us. It is, in every way, a breath of spring air in these waning days of winter." — John Del Signore

Saturday // 2 p.m. & 7 p.m. // @Seaport [210 Front St] // $18

FOOD/DRINK: Four Greenpoint bars will join forces on Sunday to fatten your ass. The "Great Greenpoint Mac Off" is a free mac 'n cheese pub crawl and cooking competition that kicks off at Greenpoint Avenue bar Red Star, where chef John Manzo will dish out his joint's mac o' the day. From there, the mac-ing proceeds to The Habitat on Manhattan, then across the street to The Mark Bar, where Chef Michael Diprima of Lamb and Jaffee will unleash his mac attack. It all climaxes at Franklin Street's t.b.d., where a panel of judges including New York Shitty's Miss Heather will declare a winner. But really, with a belly full of warm mac and booze, we expect everyone to feel like a champion. — John Del Signore
