The latest Improv Everywhere stunt unfolded recently on the 23rd Street E and C line subway platform: a pop-up art gallery with placards attached to everyday items, magically transforming them into priceless works of art. The trash can, for example, was titled Repository and described as a "clearly ironic reinterpretation" that "plays on the tropes of idealism in opposition to expediency." There was also a bar (stocked with non-alcoholic drinks), a cellist, and even a coat rack. Fancy!

Is that urine?
Yes.
Is that urine?
No.
Has improv everywhere jumped the tracks...er shark?
I fucking hate these people with the intensity of 6 burning suns.
So Matty, what is it that you fear about Improv Everywhere?
"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." - Yoda
My fear is that they don't go away and continue to think of themselves as "clever" and "in the know"
Not really that funny or poignant.
kinda wish I had something positive to say.
I do not.
again.
Pretty funny. This could easily be mistaken for the new museum though.
Oh man, it's so well executed it's hard not to love this. The one guy in contemplation of the ad? The best bit is the man who is moved to applaud the departing train. Really good stuff. And the details are great, from the patrons crisp white shirts to the cello to the wine in the "fancy" disposable plastic cups. Lets hope a young upstart gallery doesn't start a rivalry by offering an ice filled trash can of Grolsh, wooden coat hangers and improvised noise.
Oh Please can we have more Improv Everywhere?!
I really hope they continue to film their moronic exploits for the 10 people that adore them. Yey! Talk about pointless.
