America's Net Top Model wannabe's, you will get a chance to show you can smile with your eyes: Tyra Banks says that there will be another casting call in NYC, after this past Saturday's was cancelled when a riot broke out. The model-turned-entrepreneur said, "We are doing everything we can to make sure that ALL the girls who weren't seen get an opportunity to audition... We'll update you on our plans very soon. It is so important to me to redefine beauty, and make sure that everyone gets a fair chance to pursue their dream." That redefinition of beauty refers to how this casting is for a special 5'7"-and-under model search. An 18-year-old woman who was hospitalized told the Daily News, "It makes me feel a little better that I'll have another chance, but honestly I'm scared to go back." Well, let's hope there's more security next time.

Brilliant...maybe this time there'll be deaths!
I always thought the height 'requirements' for being a model were so arbitrary. I'm glad crazy Tyra is giving them a shot. I'll admit to seeing plenty of shorties that were a lot hotter than most supermodels.
but then who will we have to do porn???
midgets?
It's important that Tyra gets her chance to redefine beauty.
#1, not only that but we can also expect a high concentration of Weave tissue all over the premises.
We can also expect "Bish, Plz" and "I will cut a bish" as a prominent part of the group vocabulary.
thank you Tyra for proving that beautiful women 5'7" and under can still be considered model-hot too! what a giant step forward for women - nay! - PEOPLE.
also, should God want to prove his/her existence, he/she might want to take note of this resched and try again with the death riots...
Just hope the weave are left unharmed though.
You know, as hot as shorter women can be, can they really be "Top Models"? They certainly aren't going to get that runway job over someone that's 4" taller. Unless they're modeling kid's clothes.
Shorter women can certainly be model-hot for pictures, but I don't know about runway walkers.
Well, the show never produced any Top Models regardless of height.
Kate Moss is 5'7" and I don't think she ever did runway.
I think if the woman has a certain look, she can get model work. Take Dita Von Teese and Leigh Lezark for example.
All good points. I guess they aren't exactly diluting their awesome brand by doing the short model thing anyway.
Since when did a woman over 5'7" even become normal? I know maybe one woman that stands that tall.
That's why normal people aren't models. They're supposed to be "perfection."
Some clothes look better on taller people. Being 5'2" and 100 pounds I can't ever pull off long skirts, loose clothing or flat shoes.
That's funny. We're the same EXACT size. The flat shoes and long skirts problem is the reason why, every time I see a Hasidic girl my size, I cry a little for her.
What about well endowed short guys? When will they get an even break?
I am so sick of Tyra Banks. Just who does she think she is that she gets to define "beauty"? The most beatiful women I've ever known were not anorexic amazons. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Tyra really isn't hot in my eyes. I can think of so many black women who can put her to shame without even trying, like Gabrielle Union, Vanessa Williams or Iman. Gabrielle, in fact, is just over 5'7" and Vanessa is 5'6".
Yes, trying hard may be an understatement for Tyra with that Farrah-Fawcett wig she has there...
I hear Zodak is holding his own auditions...
And who gives a shit about all this anyway?
