St. Patrick's Day Fever All Around

2009_03_mtagreen.jpg It's St. Patrick's Day and hundreds of thousands are expected to watch today's parade in person. If you're not watching the parade from Fifth Avenue, there will be a streaming webcast on NBCNewYork.com (it also airs on WNBC 4). east village idiot noticed how the subway platform displays have been changed up from their usual yellow-and-green to a more March 17-appropriate color palette. Remember: The MTA strictly prohibits alcohol on the system and the cops will be cracking down on potential imbibing revelers at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Staten Island Ferry Terminals, Grand Central Station, Penn Station, Central Park, and any public street. And share your St. Patrick's Day photographs by emailing them to tips(at)gothamist(dot)com or tagging them "gothamist" on Flickr.

Ah another reason for everyone to get crazy drunk in the streets, puke, fight, and be loud. Going to be a long/loud night in the city!

the last few years it has either rained, snowed, or just plain freezing... at least this year it's warm and sunny!

The cops and firefighters will be drunker than most anyways-unlikely they will be stopping the throngs of jocks in stupid hats with gallon sized beers in hand

It's like this in Ireland every day.

All this because of a damned potato blight.

Grand Central Station is a post office, while Grand Central Terminal is a railroad station.

Yeah right. Only if you look like you can afford and won't challenge the summons, maybe.
