Quiet End to Winter

Winter is ending with barely a whimper this week. The best the dissipated season can throw at us is a weak front later today and another minor cold front on Thursday.

Today's action is a back door cold front that has the gall to sneak down here from New England. There isn't much to the front but it will bring clouds this afternoon and perhaps light rain showers for a few hours this evening. East winds along the front will keep the high around 50 today and the lower 50s tomorrow as the ocean temperature is only about 40 degrees. Still, the weather should be pleasant for tomorrow's parade.

The wind will shift to become more southerly on Wednesday in advance of another cold front. If the wind direction swings around far enough to no longer blow off the ocean, Wednesday's high will reach the upper 50s. After a cloudy, rainy Thursday, Friday, the vernal equinox, is expected to be sunny and cool with a high in the upper 40s.
