FOOD: The man behind the chocolate, Jacques Torres, will be at the 92nd Street Y tonight for a "candid conversation about [Torres's] life in chocolate" moderated by culinary historian Alexandra Leaf. But the real sell is that there's going to be a chocolate tasting with wine pairings. This reminds us, it's almost ice cream sandwich season!

8 p.m. // 92nd St Y [Lexington Ave at 92nd St] // $35

FILM: BAM's retrospective on Danish director Carl Theodor Dreyer (The Passion of Joan of Arc) continues tonight with his first project, the 1918 silent film The President, which will be screened with live piano accompaniment. Adapted from a novel by Karl Emil Franzos, the movie "works to dismantle the stigma attached to unwed mothers and their children by creating a humanizing portrait of women trapped in a repressive society." Because Dreyer was himself born out of wedlock, this first film is thought to be among his most personal. — John Del Signore

MUSIC: If you aren't getting on a plane to Austin this week, you can take part in SXSW tonight at the Bell House when Oh My Rockness hosts a local Pre-SXSW Party! Casiokids, Anamanaguchi, The New Wine and Kittens Ablaze. If some of these band names sound unfamiliar it may be because the site has teamed up with the Oya Festival in Oslo, so half the acts are Norwegian! View some live Casiokids here, so you know what you're in for.

SHOW & TELL: Remember the grade school days where you'd bring in your most prized possession for Show and Tell? Well tonight you can relive it all at the Bowery Poetry Club. Each performer gets seven minutes to present their object and the story behind it. Hosted by the O'Debra Twins.

10 p.m. // Bowery Poetry Club [308 Bowery] // $3

PLAN AHEAD: This Wednesday night the one and only Naughty by Nature are playing an intimate show in Brooklyn. Their set is part of the Women's Prison Association fundraiser at Southpaw. You down with OPP? You can still buy your $25 tickets here!
