Keep it Going Ads Parodied?

A reader sent along these photos from the E train, saying, "I am sure that they are fakes and that they are making fun of the current Keep it Going NYC campaign." We asked an NYC Transit spokesman if they were fakes, to which he replied, "I have no idea." Smells like a renegade campaign to us! And unlike the KeepNewYorkMoving ad campaign, it's not asking Albany for funding, but criticizing both Governor Paterson for his budget cuts and the MTA for its proposed fare hikes and service cuts.

"We asked an NYC Transit spokesman if they were fakes, to which he replied, "I have no idea." That is like asking the mayor, "What's it like to be poor?"

I asked NYC Transit spokesman Paul Fleuranges if he was from Mars, to which he replied "I have no idea"

Asked about any and everything to do with New York Governor Paterson responded, "I have no idea."

Speaking of education and state aid, how about taking making it so that anyone who drops out of high school immediately becomes ineligible for welfare and food stamps? Might make kids think twice about quitting.

Yes, I realize tough love in this age of entitlement and government dependency is an impossible sell.

There are many possible explanations for students to drop out of high school other than because he/she is a punk or a gang member. For example, have you ever considered that someone might drop out in order to get a job to support his/her mother or siblings due to the illness/death of the "breadwinner."

Give me a break. I doubt the mofos that drop out really care about anything but themselves. These individuals look out and see dreams built on rap and drugs and whoring and welfare, quick and easy money because staying in school ain't cool. The best thing to do is to kill all dropouts. I know it's not politically correct but it sure is economically and socially correct.

"illness/death of the "breadwinner." Do you mean the grandmother died in a drive by shooting on her way to the welfare office?

"Might make kids think twice about quitting."

These are kids that are dropping out of high school. What makes you believe they're thinking once about it? All you would do is punish those who, for whatever reason, felt they had no choice.

"Because every New Yorker deserves to be continuously blessed by the Great Michael Bloomberg, he's bypassed the democratic process and extended term limits."

Real or fake?
