Eighth Ave. and Union St. is just one of many dangerous intersections in Park Slope. A pedestrian was killed at the corner of Eighth Ave. and Carroll St. one month ago and a biker at the corner of Eighth and President St. in September. There are several factors contributing to an increase in traffic and speeding along Eighth Ave.: development of the neighborhood has resulted in more cars and more searching for parking. Add to that distracted drivers using cellphones and Blackberries and you've got a war zone between pedestrians and drivers. Just last week, I saw a pedestrian stopped in the middle of Carroll St. at the corner of Eighth distracted by his Blackberry. When I suggested it would be safer for him to answer his email ten steps ahead, he told me to mind my own business and told me what he would do to me if I didn't.
Do you people realize if it wasn't for Donald Trump Wollman Rink would not be what it is today. That and, and, what was that other thing he did for NYC? Other than Trump SoHo of course.
Do you realize how many people he screwed over with frequent trips to bankruptcy court? Contrary to the Donald's mouth, the NYC skyline existed well before he came along.
Actually I do. A friend of mine that was working on his "Dump Tower" on 57 street told me the design firm that did his construction barricade sign design got screwed for their services. And this was back in the early eighties. The guy is a total piece of shit.
And during his reign, the elevators ran on time. Do you have any idea how annoying it is to wait an extra three seconds in his rivals' lobbies?
Yes I do. Do you realize that if you are making a gazillion dollars a year how much that is in per seconds of waiting time for his assholiness?
But at the same time the supreme question is why did all these bankers and Wall street fucks fuck up as much as they did? If I put all my money on red down in Atlantic City and it came out black. I don't see the feds bailing my ass out.
WHY WHY WHY would they re-make Death at a Funeral?? It's a classically hysterical British movie ... no need to "Americanize" it for a New World audience. Is the incessant recycling of screenplays Hollywood's way of going green?
There's no The in Watchmen.
