Sudden Staten Island Geyser

2009_03_sigey.jpg This morning, a water main broke close to the intersection of Arthur Kill and Veterans roads. The Staten Island Advance reported, "Water is apparently reaching utility wires, prompting the FDNY to call in Con Edison to assess the situation." Not only that, water was shooting up 30-40 feet in the air and, as MyFoxNY shows in some video, "Cars were actually driving through the water." The DEP is also responding to the situation.
