ART PARTY: Every few months or so, the giant Eyebeam space in Chelsea is transformed into an eclectic DIY art installation and performance party called MIXER. We had a blast there last November, and highly recommend checking it out. Because of increasing popularity, this time they've expanded the party to two nights; Friday night's headliner is DJ Tim Sweeney, Saturday night's top billing is The Juan Maclean, who will be doing a DJ set. The rest of the night is full of tightly-guarded secrets, but the Eyebeam crew always puts a tremendous amount of work into this thing, so you can count on ample surprises. Peruse the full list of collaborators here. — John Del Signore
