A gang of transvestite teenagers has been arrested and charged with mugging women in the West Village. Brooklyn's Jubril "Dominic" Faggins and Jhirad "Shanese" Powell are accused of robbing women in The Archive, a prestigious apartment building on Greenwich Street. After robbing a woman there in January, they then charged $3,639 to the woman's credit cards on wigs and women's cl othes and jewelry at stores at the Fulton Mall in Brooklyn. Powell told police, "It was Destiny [another transvestite] that told me to rob the white bitch. I grabbed the bag off her and punched her while Shanese was holding her down." The Post notes that the building the group would return to for another robbery is "the onetime home to Monica Lewinsky, designer Michael Kors and actress Jennifer Connelly. "

Christopher street seriously needs to be gotten under control. I've lived in the area for over 15 years and it's actually gotten worse. The crowd on some nights verbally harasses, threatens, screams into the early morning. They leave condoms on doorsteps.
The city doesn't do anything because of the historical signifigance in gay culture (stonewall), or because of the obvious mixed race factor. But let's get real, this is way beyond that. There are no issues like this in Chelsea or HK. No, the element who comes down to Christopher street from the outer boroughs are out of control and everyone knows it.
