SI Man Puts Rappers to Shame with Gun Arsenal

2009_03_siguns.jpg A tip to the Organized Crime Control Bureau led police to the home of a Staten Island landlord where they found a slew of unlicensed weapons that included 77 handguns, three rifles, two stun guns, several knives and boxes of shells. 54-year-old Gary Granato was arrested on weapons charges for the arsenal he had been unable to secure a permit for, despite two attempts to do so. A police source said, "That's 80 guns off the streets that could have fell in the wrong hands." Most of the guns were apparently antique (but still usable) collectibles purchased at auctionarms.com. One neighbor told the News, "There was a lot of FedEx and UPS deliveries every day. When one would leave, the next one would come."

"SI Man Puts Rappers to Shame with Gun Arsenal"

Yeah, because he never went out with any of them and killed some innocent civilian for a cell phone and $4.00.

"The 54-year-old Granato apparently is a collector and bought many of the guns, some of them antiques dating to the early 1900s, at the Web site auctionarms.com. Police don't believe any of them were used in a crime."

If you like the govt running your lives so much, please be sure rattle your chains (and put this on your front door).

Nice poster. I'm sure he was stockpiling weapons to arm his local militia when King George III's troops storm Staten Island.

hint...BDS is old news - the new king is Barry Soetoro.

You are a fucking sensationalist idiot. Do rappers handle antique weapons? I sense some subconcious racism here. You fuckers need to take ethics and media again. Losers.

In videos or on Youtube rappers hardly wave guns around as dick extensions or drink Crystal. AM's have made themselves laughable stereotypes. Don't cry about it now.

OMG! It is starting! I knew a democratic president would take our guns away... and just when we need them too!

Off the streets? They weren't even ON the "streets" to begin with.

Antiques are just that.. antiques. I'm sure the hoplophobes will claim otherwise, but there's just "something" about firearms from WW1 and especially WW2.

I guess the Daily News could use a literate editor. Any volunteers?

Then people wonder why the NRA is so strong about their stance. It's obvious. The NYPD has no problem busting a gun collector but they sure as shit have a problem busting the thugs out there shooting up their hoods.

When was the last time a flintlock was used to stick up a bank or a gas station?

Those would have been useless against both upcoming civil unrest and the zombie apocalypse.
As far as creating a militia goes, the army has all the freakin' flamethrowers. We wouldn't stand a chance.

Flamethrowers only work if what they're aiming at is within a specific arc directly in front of them for about 30 feet. Stand far enough away and shoot their tank. They'll blow up real good!

It's not known why he was denied permits in the past. The reasoning behind the denials is pretty important to reach any conclusion.

The Supreme Court has upheld permit requirements, so any kind of 2nd Amendment debate is moot.

Only civil servants and personal friends of Bloomberg get gun licenses in NYC. Period. Read up about it. The grant rate to non-civil servant voters is zero. Self defense isn't a reason.

someone snitched. maybe the UPS guy got tired of lifting all that heavy Pb. that's why I tip my guy and offer a refreshing beverage in the summer time.
