PETA Goes Further Down the Pole for New Anti-Fur Models

Today PETA released its newest ads in the long campaign where famous figures such as Pamela Anderson and Dennis Rodman profess that they'd rather "Go Naked" than wear fur. Who's joining those illustrious ranks? It's the strippers from Rick's Cabaret! PETA says, "Nowadays, savvy investors are looking for safe bets." Those bets probably wouldn't include investing in the establishment that the animal rights organization highlights as "the only strip joint on NASDAQ." Shares of Rick's currently sell for $2.54, a year after they went for over $25.

PETA is no stranger to pushing the envelope—this ad joins the ranks of a recently banned Super Bowl commercial and a drag queen drawing attention to her package. On their softer side, when not courting Penthouse Pets, PETA is warning children of the how cruel it is to eat adorable sea kittens. Gawker rips into the new ads saying, "$200 and all of these girls will presumably eat steak, while stripping."

  • Well you know there is nothing actors and models would rather do than take off their clothing. Standing naked before an audience isn't risk taking, it's self indulgence nothing more. Notoriety is painless in this context, it's painless exhibitionism conceived for harmless voyeurism. Yawn.

  • billybob

they are trying to be all sophisticated with their anit-fur campaign yet hire a bunch of bimbos to represent them. Why not find some more intelligent looking academic type women?

They might as well have guidos from NJ wearing speedos.

    Next stop... Skank Town!

  • whitecastlerock

In these troubling economic times, who can afford a fur coat?

  • Guest

PETA, and felixthecat, have sunk to new lows. Remember Felix and PETA... using your enemies' tactics when you constantly complain about your enemies tactics shows everyone that you have no integrity, and therefore, no one will give your message any credence. For an example of this, just look at what Dubya did to our country's credibility.

    Valeriob is my stalker. LMFAO

  • valeriob

That's no way to talk to your father.

    Did you get that memo?

  • Bluealways

Pamela Anderson and Dennis Rodman? PETA sure has a grasp of who is relevant! Maybe superstar recording artist Gerardo should join up as well! If you have to rely on naked women to sell your product, your product sucks. Feel free to take a dump on the decades of social progress women have made in the name of fucking soy and pleather.

  • felixthecat2

Most products use women to sell. have you check any fashion magazine? At least this is for a good cause and not for corporate evil. and where is the outrage for the animals skinned alive for their fur which is perverse

  • valeriob

    If only cavemen had 'morals'

So barbaric... eating animals and wearing their fur to survive.

Can we start a coalition for that?

We can get Al Sharpton on board if it has something to do with monkeys.

  • felixthecat2

put a shirt on Peasant, you look like a monkey

  • felixthecat2

  • valeriob

Oh, and excellent point here to.

    Great post

  • valeriob

FelixtheCat, finally! Something I agree with you on.

  • felixthecat2

Peta rules, they fight for animal rights and instead of criticizing a group that does something good, why don't you do something yourselves.

  • felixthecat2

damn, you people are such hypocrites, Peta is employing the same tactics that the meat and fur industry employs to combat the misconceptions. Why do you think the meat industry calls it beef, pork etc instead of cow, pig? Why do you think the fur industry uses beautiful women to wear fur to sell the image that fur is sexy? Unfortunately, the videos of all the undercover footage of slaughterhouses and animals including cats and dogs skinned alive for fur doesn't affect many heartless people. So Peta is using the same marketing as those meat/fur industry. AT is sick about some of theses posters who hypocritically are offended by theses ads. Such prunes, be offended about the cruelty of fur instead of sexy women.

  • felixthecat2

wow, the redhead is gorgeous..., the people who wear fur are mostly old botox women, ghetto women and off the boat eastern women. Fur is unfashionable and cruel.

  • Quenepa

I go to the VIP Club on 20th - they have sushi there

  • jhoon

Even the research underlying the ad is lame - VCG Holding Group, "a growing and leading consolidator and operator of adult nightclubs in the United States" (company website) - is also listed on NASDAQ.

  • Tower18

Wow, the girls at trashy hole in the wall strip clubs in South Florida are 10x better looking than these high-priced girls. That's interesting.

  • Past Taliban

So many cute models and not ONE shot of their furry beavers.

  • Felix Hoenikker

'Furry beavers' at strip joints? Surely you jest.

  • Clarice City

Ha ha! Rick's has a steak house!

  • Mr Mel

PETA is made up mostly of spinsters (of which Manhattan is loaded) and they should join forces with the pro-lifers and the rest of the losers.

  • felixthecat2

peta is mostly college aged girls in the demos, its is ugly old women that wear fur.

  • valeriob

Yea, your mom has this awesome chinchilla piece.

    She wears it to bed.

    FelixtheCat, I'm your father.

Sorry you had to find out this way.

  • Clarice City

Coincidentally, PETA has reduced themselves to employing the worst kind of meat market for their message. You stay classy PETA.

  • TKaisen

I'd love for someone to go through their make-up cabinets and see how much of it is tested on animals.

  • Atomische

We'd rather go topless than wear fur

I suspect the list of things they'd go topless for is quite long.

  • Clarice City

NYU did it for free. Zing!

  • barryap

"We'd rather go topless than not have 50 bucks in singles."

  • millipede

That campaign makes me want to go buy a fur coat RIGHT NOW. Who are they trying to reach with those ads? Women? They must be out of their damn minds.

  • babyhitler

this ad is dumb! those girls are doing the "covering breasts with arms" pose and they are FULL CLOTHED!!!! ripoff.

  • jpeditor

I belong to PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals.
