- Devils 3, Maple Leafs 2 (OT): After flying under the radar for much of the seasons, the Devils are in full bloom. It took them until an extra session to beat the lowly Maple Leafs, but they have still won all four games since Martin Brodeur returned from his biceps injury. He made 30 of 32 saves in this one.
The Devils should be a little discouraged that they needed 52 shots to get three goals against Vesa Toskala, but that's a minor concern. Johnny Oduya scored in overtime after David Clarkson and Patrik Elias scored in regulation. The Devils have the second-most points in the Eastern Conference and fourth-most in the entire league.
- Nets 99, Bucks 95: Two things stick out from this game. First is Brook Lopez, who had 24 points and 12 rebounds. Second is the play of the bench. Keyon Dooling, Ryan Anderson and Jarvis Hayes each scored in double-figures. New Jersey outscored Milwaukee by 10 points in the fourth quarter.

Red Storm pulls off upset in Big East, news at 11.
An all New Jersey sports evening!
The Red Storm are about as significant as Rutgers Basketball.
New Jersey is about as significant as, New Jersey.
Or Queens.
The Devils have not been under the radar for most of the season-they have been in first place for most of the season. They are a first rate organization-they don't garner the media attention because they are not a bunch of overpaid underachievers. They win games no matter who defects for the money elsewhere. Scott Gomez? Brian Rafalski? Meh. Players who leave the Devils want to come back because they have a chance in the playoffs. Not reported here was their latest acquisition of defenseman Niclas Havelid from the Thrashers. The trade was a steal and should bolster their blue line. Somehow a mediocre third line player like Sean Avery gets the lion's share of the press in this area. Not sure why. Is it because the Rangers really have no tradition of winning and continually suck? Ah yes smoke and mirrors MSG style... Martin Brodeur is ready to break a few records this season-it's a shame the Devils are an afterthought around here.
nailed it! well done!
I'm sure the Devils are top of mind on Jerseyist -
Nailed it. Well done, section313.
typical Ranger fans...
The Devils can be stopped, and will be stopped against the (surprisingly) surging (youthful) Islanders on Saturday afternoon! Mark my words!
I am not a devils fan but Brodeur is the best goalie of all times, somewhat tied with Patrick Roy, but Brodeur will break his records so once its all said and done Brodeur will be considered the best ever...
I was the 1st to say how the devils where doomed when brodeur got injured...I was very surprised at how well they did sans brodeur...
