Woman Found Stabbed to Death on Brooklyn Street

2009_02_bkstb.jpg The body of a woman was found on a Degraw Street sidewalk, just a block from the East River, yesterday morning around 6:30 a.m. Police say she was Latina, in her late 20s or early 30s, and stabbed multiple times; WABC 7 reports, "Residents in the neighborhood told Eyewitness News they saw bloody evidence of the crime as early as midnight." The Brookly Daily Eagle was on the scene and overhead one man react when told someone was stabbed to death, "Jesus, that hasn't happened around here for years.” Another resident said of the building near where the body was found, “Hard-working people live there. Quiet, hard working people. No disturbances. Then today, you come, and it’s just Boom Bang. I hope they catch the guy.”

Bloody evidence as early as midnight but she wasn't found until the morning?

Weird, right? Maybe people saw blood, but not a body (the BDE seemed to suggest she was found in a courtyard)?

You'd think someone would report that and cops dispatched to the scene would pick up the trail. For her sake, I hope it was quick. It's sad to think that she may have survived if only she'd been found earlier.

very sad i hope its a fast one too :(.

Terrifying. Prayers to her, her family, and friends. Get this guy off the streets. Now.

I guess "gentrification" is officially over in those parts of Brooklyn...

"I hope they catch the guy."

Why does he presume the culprit was male? I bet he did it.

some lady got attached by a dude with a butcher knife in park slope a few months ago. We live in new york, this has nothing to do with "grentrification"

crazy shit happens everywhere.

friday night, probably knew the stabber.
may of been a domestic dispute. I've seen some drag out yelling kicking and grabbing fights between a girlfriend who does not want to go home with her date.

I'm thinking the same thing too, that they were in a car and after this horrible crime, the perp drove off. Maybe she got up and struggled to find someone or a phone and left a bloody trail. She suffered terribly.
