This morning we were lucky enough to find this picture taken by hoggardb on flickr at the West 4th Street subway station just yesterday. It makes sense that a piano could find its way onto the ACE platform at that stop due its wheelchair accessible elevator combined with the long ramp down on the 3rd Street side. But the real question is: did he ride the rails with it? If we're not mistaken, the lounge cars of Amtrak trains sometimes had pianos in them once upon a time.
NYC Sound Tracks Winner Dorian Spencer might have his work cut out for him if he has to face this guy in season two of the subway muscian reality contest.

yeah, he was at the downtown nqrw platform at Union Sqare a few weeks ago. He played a nice mix of classical and pop arrangements.
i saw this guy there a bunch of times, and one of the times he had the piano upstairs and was playing with one other guy who, if i remember correctly, was playing drums
It's probably Colin Huggins. The NY Times wrote about him a few months ago. Here's the story: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/31/nyregion/thecity/31pian.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=colin%20huggins&st=cse
yeah that is Colin for sure. Just saw him at Union Square with some tappers and drummers. He always puts on a great show. Gotta love NYC.
I've seen the piano, drummer, and tap dancer group at Herald Square as well.
I believe that's an organ!?!
Nope, its an upright piano.
