Last Night's Action: Toronto Sweeps New York

  • Raptors 111, Knicks 100: Two days after the Knicks destroyed the Raptors by 30 at the Garden, Toronto got its revenge. Larry Hughes (1-of-9, three points) and Chris Wilcox (five points) didn't impress in their Knicks debuts.

New York's defense also fell into the unimpressive category. All five Raptors starters scored in double figures and the team shot 51.2 percent from the floor. Al Harrington had 31 in the loss.

  • Maple Leafs 3, Rangers 2 (OT): For two periods, this game rivaled paint drying for boredom. Four final-session goals (including a game-tying strike by Michal Rozsival with 40 seconds to go) helped pick things up. Unfortunately for the Rangers, they allowed the overtime score by Niklas Hagman, costing them the extra point.

The Rangers were lucky to get even 1 point for their flat effort. I'd bet that Tom will be posting a story about Coach Renney's firing in about 3 or 4 hours.
