Whispers About Pataki For Senate in 2010

2009_02_pataki.jpg A source tells the AP that national Republicans "have approached" former governor George Pataki "about running for the U.S. Senate in 2010." Apparently Senator ("Big Bad") John Cornyn, who heads the GOP's national senate committee, met with Pataki on Tuesday, apparently discussing Pataki as a challenger to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand in 2010. Pataki did not accept or reject the offer, but after 12 years of Pataki, does NY State want more? We suppose that would put his PAC money to better use.

When Pataki thought about running for president less than 1% of Republicans asked thought it would be a good idea. Time hasn't made him look any better, just duller.

doesn't stand a chance; the biggest loser in NYS politics; once his ties to Bruno are exposed he'll make Obama's picks look as clean as virgins.

Imagine if Giuliani runs for governor and Pataki takes a Senate seat? It could be like post 9/11 all over again with Giuliani holding press conferences and Pataki standing behind him nodding his head and not saying anything like the dud that he is! How wonderful, but I think I'll stick with Paterson or Cuomo and my homeslice KGill

I think Laura Bush should be the GOP candidate. It worked for the last first lady.

    Oh god no.

I guess this more or less confirms Giuliani and Lazio are running for governor.

I couldn't stand this empty suit as governor. Now that Kirsten Gillibrand is selling out the things that made her appealing (gun rights, immigration enforcement), I'll have to search for someone else to vote for, but no way will I pull the lever for Pataki.
