0209whitehousegabriel.jpg FILM: Honor the holiday and soak up the current economic state of suck tonight at the Film Forum's ongoing Breadlines and Champagne series. Tonight they screen Gabriel Over the White House (pictured) and Washington Merry-Go-Round in honor of Presidents Day. Sadly, the series doesn't come with Depression Era prices.

7:40 p.m. // Film Forum [209 W Houston St] // $11

THEATER: Project Shaw continues its admirably obsessive endeavor to present every single play George Bernard Shaw ever wrote. Tonight's offering is one of Shaw's least known plays, a "comedy of no manners" called Buoyant Billions which he completed in 1947 toward the end of his long life. The plot concerns a rich young man who decides to become a professional 'world betterer' in the post-atomic age. Complications, naturally, ensue. As always with Project Shaw, tonight's reading is one night only. — John Del Signore

7 p.m. // The Players [16 Gramercy Park South] // $20

COMEDY: The not-too-distant worlds of news punditry and punchlines collide when commentators head to the Gotham Comedy Club for an evening of Talking-Head Comedy. The night's talent includes Ellis Henican (Newsday, Fox News), Jim Mendrinos (Comedy Central, BBX), Leighann Lord (HBO, The View), Maureen Langan (Comedy Central, MSNBC), and Gerald McCulloch (CSI and riding the A train at 2 a.m. from JFK). —Jen Chung

8:30 p.m. // Gotham Comedy Club [208 W 23rd St] // $12 + 2 drink minimum

EVENT: As the rich and famous sit pretty under the Bryant Park tents this week, it's nice to have an option for budget fashionistas as well. Enter "Thrift On," where you are encouraged to bring clothes and objects you no longer want, to trade with other like-minded folk. A deejay will be on hand to soundtrack your barters.

9 p.m. // Botanica Bar [47 E Houston St] // Free
