A-Rod Apologizes to Sports Illustrated Reporter Lady

2009_02_arodespn.jpg Embattled Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez is apparently trying to work the charm offensive. Sports Illustrated reporter Selena Roberts, who co-wrote the story that revealed his steroid use during his Texas Rangers days, says the player called her to apologize for his remarks during his ESPN interview (A-Rod had complained, "What makes me upset is that Sports Illustrated pays this lady, Selena Roberts, to stalk me... Really respectable journalists are following this lady off the cliff and following her lead."). Rodriguez seems to be enjoying things in spite of the controversy: He went on a Valentine's date with a model last night; an onlooker told the Daily News, "They were not holding hands, but they looked very happy; he seemed very into her."

he didn't cheat you disgusting always online loser.

he used drugs that enhance your muscles, etc. before there was any rule, much like many players did.

he still would have been and is an amazing ballplayer.

you act like if he didn't use anything years ago that he'd be at home like you constantly writing things on blogs.

Steroids that are used to CHEAT have been banned from most amateur and professional sports for over 20 years. That Baseball waited so long before requiring its teams to test is a testament to the rot and gangrene that is killing it. Whether A-Rod have been so "amazing" without them is quite in doubt.

He says one thing to ESPN then he turns around and apologizes to SI. Does his agent have a basement command center with A-Rod's story arc mapped out on the wall? Well here's where the arc falls to the floor: he cheated. He is a cheater. He does not represent the game in any positive way and his stats are corrupted. No team should field this guy much less pay him. ...but Scott Boras can still represent him in his dealings with Madonna. God knows anyone would want backup for a meet-up with that gnarled old cougar.

He was booed last year, can you just imagine his presence this year? Plus who is buying all those expensive boxes?

he's spending 265 million dollars that he got from cheating with steroids. Of course he's happy!

Yeah, Alex, and this "Lady" tried to break into your home yet you never bothered to call the police.

I'm surprised Alex didn't bring up the fact that Selena Roberts was one of the writers who broke the Duke lacrosse story.

This dude needs to look at Craig's list and buy a used backhoe.
