Last Night's Action: Going In Opposite Directions

Devils 3 Rangers 0: Like the proverbial two ships passing in the night, the Devils and Rangers faced off on Monday. New Jersey has played very well of late, surging into the Atlantic Division lead. And, with reports that Martin Brodeur is close to returning, it seems like the Devils are hitting their stride just in time for the stretch run. New York has been awful, giving up 10 goals the other night in Dallas and going in reverse since the All-Star Break.

So, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the Devils took this game fairly easily. Bobby Holik and Zach Parise scored within 90 seconds of each other in the second period to give New Jersey a 2-0 lead. Parise added a second goal late in the third period to clinch the game.

Fire Renney already. With all of this talent the only buzz about the Rangers is that they may bring back Sean Avery? Too many fancy passes, dump the puck in, crappy defense.

Uhm....3-2?? Much Like the Rangers, you may need to try again. Final Score was 3-0.

I do appreciate you covering them at all though

3-2 - wishful thinking on the part of a Rangers fan?
