When U.S. Airways Flight 1549 splashed landed in the Hudson last month, officials from NYC to D.C. thought it might be terrorism. According to a lengthy NY Times article, officials emergency response systems created in the wake of September 11, 2001. Former Senator Bob Kerrey, who was on the 9/11 Commission, said of the 9/11 attacks, "The airlines knew what was going on, but the Federal Aviation Administration didn’t. Then, the F.A.A. knew, and the White House didn’t. Then, nobody on the local level knew that there were planes, hijacked, on a collision course with the Eastern Seaboard.” Of the "Miracle on the Hudson," the Times writes, "There were oddities, luck and examples of teamwork. Some things seemed to work well. Certainly Flight 1549 revealed the networks of communications that have built up since 9/11. But the implications of the early judgment that the crash was a freak accident might well garner significant scrutiny," since officials believed the "bird strike" cause early on.

It was terrorism. Canadian Geese. Bomb Canadia.
There was inter-agency confusion as to a plane landing less than five minutes after takeoff into the Hudson River? A perfect defense system could have blown that jet out of the sky the second it started its ground-level approach towards Manhattan.
Do I have a point? Not necessarily.
We should position anti-aircraft guns on all buildings over sixty-five feet and shoot down any aircraft that falls below that level. All we need is appropriate funding from the state and the feds.
Planes don't crash into buildings, people crash into buildings.
annnnnnddddd it's not terrorism. Stop hyping up the fears of the general public. You guys suck
If the government has even the slightest suspicion an air crash might be terror related, their immediate reflex is to tell everybody that it's in fact, NOT terror related before they've even had a chance to get make a determination one way or another.
I still say TWA flt 800 was shot down and the government covered it up.
That's interesting. That explains pretty much how the government reacted during 9/11. But wait. You'll tell me it wasn't terrorism at all. It was the government blowing us up! Then you would be right.
Conclusion: If the government says it's terrorism, then it is certainly the government's dirty work. If the government says it isn't, then it is definitely terrorism.
Life lessons from Ides: don't trust the government, keep you money--preferably gold--under your mattress, and Gothamist is an NSA (actually another secret organization that the NSA doesn't even know about) tool to control the people. Right on!
9/11 has been extremely lucrative for politicians, bureaucrats, cops and the media, especially those working the Terrorism'n'Security side of the street. One can hardly blame them for stirring the pot whenever an opportunity presents itself.
Radio controlled Canadian Geese.
