Warming for the Weekend

The local weather scene is taking a turn toward the quiet. The latest cold outbreak is about over. This morning's clouds will gradually give way to sun by the afternoon. The temperature will climb toward the freezing mark for the first time since Staten Island Chuck declared winter to be over.

A passing warm front will bring mild air to town for much of the weekend. Look for tomorrow's high to be in the mid 40s. Sunday should be even warmer, with the high reaching 50. There's one caveat: the maximum temperature is likely to be in the morning. A midday cold front is expected to bring a chill, and maybe a shower, to Sunday afternoon.

Seasonable temperatures in the lower 40s and a lack of precipitation are expected early next week.
