FILM: Cult classic Valley of the Dolls will screen tonight at the Rubin Museum, with an intro from none other than Alan Cumming. The 1967 film stars Barbara Parkins, Patty Duke, and Sharon Tate as three glamorous women who "will do whatever it takes to get to the top. Based on the Jacqueline Susann bestseller, this final film in the 'The Proverbial Pictureshow' series illustrates the Bhutanese proverb “Medicine, if taken with knowledge; poison, if abused.” More details here.

Jones and Elvis Mitchell, an African Art Gallery Talk with Kevin Dumouchelle, a Young Voices Gallery Talk, a film (Lackawanna Blues) or a Book Club meeting discussing Pamela Newkirk "Letters from Black America" with the author herself. FOOD: Williamsburg's Union Pool will be red hot this Sunday when the annual Chili Takedown turns up the heat. 30 contestants will be "fighting to the death" in the competition, and your $10 admission gives you a voice in who gets crowned the winner.
