Madoff's Victims Listed

2009_01_madoffhl.jpg The Post heralded the release of the list of Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme victims as "Swindler's List," finding that the investor "targeted prominent Jewish families in New York and Palm Beach. But his swath of tears stretched coast to coast, and also included unions, family trusts and estates." New notable figures among the list: Dodgers legend Sandy Koufax, Madoff's own lawyer Ira Sorkin and World Trade Center developer Larry Silverstein, who released a statement saying his losses "absolutely pale in comparison to those innocent investors who lost their life savings as a result of this scheme." You can peruse the 162-page list of victims (PDF); keep in mind that it's by first name...or even "Mr." Also: Harry Markopolos, who questioned Madoff's investing years ago and even brought it to the SEC's (in)attention, told Congress yesterday, “The SEC had enough to get Madoff. I drew them pictures. I gave them a road map. I told them what questions to ask and who to phone.

Wait a sec....Larry Silverstein lost money!? He should've told Bernie to "just pull it"

    Sincerely,

    your good friend

    Sivan Kurzberg.

    Shalom, b*tches.

His sons had to be involved. All his relatives including his brother and wife should be in jail with him. If he was italian, they would have issued an arrest warrant for his future grandchildren.

  • NannyState

Yawn. Clusterstock.com was all over this from the get go. While Rupert was rubbing shit into the faces of his jewish enemies at the Times, his News Corporation just reported $6 billion in losses, but that's another "Swindler's List".

The end of Jew-topia. Kishka-lot is over.

Sorry, no sympathy here. Most of the "victims" knew somebody was being ripped off, they just believed it wasn't them. They were friends of Bernie, after all!

  • mmarc

I can't think of a single reason these addresses should be made public.

  • Smitty025

    Ever think of the constitution?

    "Amendment VI

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and PUBLIC trial..." (Emphasis mine)

  • Politburo

That says public trial, not "publicly list the addresses of all known victims".

There is no reason to publish the addresses, but if that's how the gov put it out, I can't blame the Post for passing it along.

I am going to sit here and quietly exhale from my anus as I pretend to feel sympathy for people stupid and greedy enough to fall for this farce.

The SEC was either paid off or utterly incompetent or both. Either way somebody there should be prosecuted and tossed in jail but don't hold your breath.
