Beat Febrrrruary with Hot Chocolate Festival at City Bakery

Did you know that January was the first time the temperature in New York City didn't hit 50 degrees in over twenty-five years? But alas, relief is here! Today begins the 17th annual Hot Chocolate Festival at City Bakery in the Flatiron District. For each day of the month, they'll have a different flavor of hot chocolate, starting with Beer Hot Chocolate today and Bourbon Hot Chocolate on the 27th (with a surprise flavor on the 28th).

This year's theme for is "Lights Out Hot Chocolate," where they're turning the lights out everyday in the bakery and lighting candles instead. Other highlight flavors include Banana Peel Hot Chocolate, "Happy" Hot Chocolate, Hot Chocolate By the Numbers and Love Potion Hot Chocolate on Valentine's Day.

City Bakery is just off Fifth Avenue near Union Square at 3 West 18th Street.

"the temperature in New York City didn't hit 50 degrees in over twenty-five years?" I guess Al Gore got things working properly.

I also read that Madoff is giving bonuses to all those that worked for him over the last twelve years based on their performance records.

Hey Gore, where is your Global Warming doom and gloom now?

Earth has been steadily cooling since 1998, and it will continue to cool.

This Climate Change is not man-made (which is a tax hoax with Carbon Taxes etc.) but simply cause by the Sun and other external factors.

Dude, global warming is sooo 10 years ago.

It's Climate change now, since the rise in average global temperature is leading to warmer weather in some places, and colder weather in others. Not to mention increases in hurricanes, storms, flooding, etc.

Nothing you wrote about climate change is true. The Earth has not been steadily cooling since 1998, there is no reason to expect it to continue to cool, global warming is not a hoax, the warming of the earth over the past 150 years is demonstrably not from changes in the Sun or other external factors.

Climate represents the state of the atmosphere over many years. Weather from a few minutes to days or weeks. A cold January is simply that, one cold month. Using your logic if February is warmer than average then global warming is on again.

52 on Feb. 1 and now, no snowstorm. The pain, the pain.

You lost me there gang. If it gets warmer in February , then it's global warming/climate change caused by SUV's and Americans? If it gets cooler, it's because of global warming? If it stays the same average temperature then it is caused by what, methane farts of dairy cows or illegal immigrants on welfare?

A warming planet is based on average temperatures over the entire planet, not only the temperatures in, for instance, Washington DC, Manhattan, or Crawford, Texas. Bloomberg News is reporting today:

Jan. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Australia, including its island state of Tasmania, sweltered under temperatures as high as 48 degrees Celsius (118 degrees Fahrenheit), even emptying Melbourne beaches after lifeguards said the sand was so hot it burned bathers’ feet.

Beer flavored chocolate? Oh, the heresy!

Yummy. Must try the Bourbon Hot Chocolate.

Yummy. Must try that Bourbon Hot Chocolate.
