Emperors Club VIP Manager Gets 6 Months

2009_01_cecilsu.jpg The 24-year-old woman who helped manage the escort ring that former Governor Spitzer patronized was sentenced to six months in prison. Cecil Suwal, who grew up in NJ and attended the Blair Academy, had pleaded guilty last summer; at that time, her lawyer said, "She is contrite and she is determined to right her wrongs in a manner that is just and fair... She deeply regrets her actions. She is remorseful." Her lawyer had said Suwal was 18 when she got involved with Mark Brener (now 63), the escort ring's owner, and suggested Brener was a Svengali-like presence—Suwal had a "Property of Mark Brener" tattoo.

"Or better yet, why isn't the pimp serving time?"

Brener? He has pleaded guilty, just as she did, but hasn't yet been sentenced. The two booking agents did the same; one has already been sentenced and the other hasn't yet. All of that is in the linked article.

Dupree wasn't charged for the same reason Spitzer wasn't: this was a federal investigation targeting the people running the ring. The feds don't normally bring prostitution or soliciting charges in these cases; they focus on things like promoting prostitution and money laundering.

That wouldn't have surprised anyone if this particular case hadn't been found to involve a sitting Governor.

    I see....

Or better yet, why isn't the pimp serving time?

Why can't she swap jail time for reporting all of that handsome prostition income to the IRS and actually pay taxes? If we leagalized prostitution at least the IRS and state would benefit from the taxes.

Also, if she's going to prison why isn't Ashley-Leoman- Kristen-Dupree behind bars with her?

Because of stupid blue laws that religious wackjobs put into place, this woman is being punished for supposedly having different morals than those who enjoy casting the first stone.

"It is my aim to prevent others, especially young girls, from making the kind of mistakes that I have made"

What better way to do that than to show them that if they make those mistakes they may end up in a prison stint?
