Pink Panther Goes From Burger King to Wall Street

2009_01_pinkpan2.jpg In his publicity blitz to promote The Pink Panther 2, the Pink Panther has been spotted around town. And he definitely ran the gamut of photo ops: Early in the day, he helped out at a Burger King (there's a Pink Panther tie-in planned)...and then he rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange!

The Dow Jones fell 226 points (2.7%)—maybe the Pink Panther was familiar with Wall Street guys eating (competitor's) fast food?

The movie's star Steve Martin is hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend (musical guest Jason Mraz)—it'll be his 15th time and a record (Alec Baldwin has hosted 13 times).

I thought Steve Martin was really funny in his appearance on 30 Rock.

That being said, it doesn't look like a very promising movie...

  • I think it was made for being shown on an airplane—you know that movie, the kind you can half pay attention to and maybe smile at some of the stupidity while you struggle to get comfortable.

Ok, you can see the neck in the Burger King photo. Illusion ruined. Amateurs.

Another filthy Wall Street fetishist brings his furry outfit to work. Can't they confine that nastiness to the Ritz Carlton?

    This thread needs more furries.

Yet another movie not to see. Steve Martin is no Peter Sellers. Hell he even isn't an Alan Arkin.

  • ides_of_march

Steve Martin hasn't been funny since about 1980.

  • tingo

Aha...so he's the one taking all the bailout money!

  • snoopydog

Try as he may, Steve Martin is not Peter Sellers, nor Jack Lemon. He's just a "wild and crazy guy."

Isn't it time that Wall Street sober up a bit and not try so hard to act like the assholes they really are?
