The other night, the new Yankee Stadium was captured illuminating the Bronx sky with a spectrum of colors not seen previously coming out of the team's old home right alongside the Major Deegan. But elsewhere, the talk amongst the team was still about stories coming out of the old clubhouse hallways through the pages of Joe Torre's memoir "The Yankee Years."
Hal Steinbrenner was on WFAN Tuesday afternoon and said that had not gotten a copy of the book, but plans to "thumb through it and read certain sections" and acknowledged that the media tends to make these situations overblown. But Steinbrenner might not have liked just what he has thumbed through since then as today it was reported that the team is considering a "non-disparagement clause" in future player and managerial contracts. An official told Newsday that such a clause would guarantee that any future books are "positive in tone."
At a charity golf outing in Florida, Derek Jeter spoke to reporters for the first time since it was revealed that Torre claimed A-Rod was obsessed with Jeter "Single White Female"-style. Jeter sounded vague when asked about that saying, “Ah, it gets to the point where it just seems like we’re always talking about the same things, you know?” He did sound loyal to his old manager for the short stop's first eleven years in the league saying, "I think you have to wait to see what’s in it first, and then give Mr. T an opportunity to address it.”

Oh my heavens!!! Saint Joe said something bad about his overpaid underachieving players???????? I didn't think it was possible!!!! What does his sister, Sister Mary Joe Namath of Our Most Blessed Bullpen have to say about this????? Fuck the Yankees and their stadiums...
The funny thing about this whole "story" is that almost no one writing about it has even read the book yet. Somehow the Post got an early copy, some passages were reported by them, and everyone else is just regurgitating what they read the paper.
Jeter's right: ""I think you have to wait to see what’s in it first..."
they're flying a-rod's colors!
LMAO!!!
So wait, what's the deal with the lights? No explanation?
lol fakenewyorker
They're preparing for disco nights at the stadium...durr!
It doesn't sound legal to me to have a contract clause that limits free speech beyond the end of the contract. If a player/employee is out of contract, as Torre is, he would no longer be bound by this agreement.
Talibanic satellites confirm that when viewed from space the stadium with its changing colors resembles those brightly fluorescent, tropical-colored condoms one usually finds in Bengali whorehouses.

I've never heard Derek Jeter sound anything BUT vague. He has perfected the art of talking without saying much.

Jeter is a loyal company man. Rocking the boat just isn't in his DNA.
what a waste of money.
