THEATER: Andrea Lepcio’s Looking for the Pony is getting great reviews; her play tells the story of two brilliant sisters coping with the elder sibling's battle with cancer. The Times's Anita Gates writes, "When you’re in the audience at a play about breast cancer, you don’t expect to laugh a lot. Or to enjoy the sweet taste of victory. Looking for the Pony takes its name from the old joke about the child shown a pile of horse manure who happily starts digging because 'there’s got to be a pony in here somewhere.' In this case, the situation in which you have to dig deep to find a bright side is a battle with cancer." And Martin Denton at nytheatre.com calls it a "gorgeous, wise, and moving play." — John Del Signore
