Monserrate's 'Reputation Management' Spending

2009_01_monbaby.jpg Politicker NY notices that State Senator Hiram Monserrate has paid $15,000 "to a reputation management firm two weeks" after being arrested for allegedly beating his girlfriend. Monserrate told Politicker NY, "Like most elected officials, I receive, from time to time, advice from media consultants. It's all part of what we do, and that's what I contracted them for." (Monserrate denies the allegations, as does his girlfriend, but authorities may have damning evidence.) In the meantime, the NY State chapter of the National Organization for Women wants Monserrate to be removed from his position of power: "We will use as an example that it is inexplicable that our former Governor Spitzer was forced to resign for having sex with a prostitute while Senator Monserrate is allowed to continue in a leadership position. Does this mean that it is more OK to beat your girlfriend than to have sex with a prostitute?"

What a lovely American concept: BUYING oneself a better reputation.

Spitzer resigned because he faced federal felony charges,

NOT because he cheated on his wife,

NOT because he hired a hooker.

You would think the bright gals at NOW would know this, but you'd be wrong. Or maybe they do and think we're not that bright.

and before all you commenters attack me for saying that I would kill him, what you would feel if your sister, daughter, etc was cut up by a man, a bully?

Monseratte is a woman batter of course NOW is outrage. There is no excuse for Domestic Abuse and if she was my sister, Monseratte would be dead right now.

“Although there is probably no legal bar to Monserrate’s being seated in the NY Senate, his elevation to a leadership position is a slap in the face for every woman in New York State,” the group said in a statement.

Also it will make it to trial since they have enough evidence to an indictment and Monseratte will never plead guilty. He would never take responsibility. What is uncertain as always is the JURY

  • Well, at this point, there are only allegations against Monserrate—should be interesting if the police/DA's office's evidence makes it to trial.

As proven time and time again, people who abuse animals abuse people as well. thefacts who I am sure is a NYC carriage driver and supports the cruelty of NYC horse carriage supports women batterers. Anyhow, It looks like the baby in the picture is backing away from Monseratte. Smart baby, probably trying to avoid a punch
