Storm Possible Wednesday

A cold high pressure system continues to dominate the weather today. Much like yesterday the city will see a mix of sun and clouds, but mostly sun. It remains cool with a high only in the upper 20s.

An upper-level disturbance bring on the clouds tonight and tomorrow. There's an outside chance of a flurry or two tomorrow morning but no significant snowfall is expected. It will be slightly warmer Tuesday.

The interesting weather story is what will happen tomorrow night and Wednesday. A low trailing closely behind the departing high is going to kick off a secondary coastal storm. This secondary storm will very likely bring a lot of precipitation to the region. The type of precipitation depends on when and where the storm forms and that, as of now, is very uncertain. In the words of the Weather Service "still too early and too much uncertainty to go crazy with the p-types". The best guess is that snow will begin to fall Wednesday morning before changing over to freezing rain, and eventually all rain, that afternoon. Better understood is that clear and cool conditions will return on Thursday.

  • Oh, we'll get both - snow, then rain

  • I'm sure all this cold weather we have endured will be for nothing. I call rain on Wed—no snow. :(
