  • From the Gothamist Newsmap: a DOA floater at West St & Watts St in Manhattan, an unstable building at 45th St and Broadway in Manhattan and a home invasion robbery on O'Brien Pl in Brooklyn.
  • Second Avenue Sagas worries about the status of the Second Avenue train line as the economy continues to crumble.
  • With many people's jobs being scaled back if not eliminated altogether, it's always good to remember that part-timers have a right to collect unemployment as well.
  • That striking mural in Veselka will be removed when the restaurant expands; artist Arnie Charnick will now be selling it to the highest bidder.
  • Timothy Geithner was confirmed as Treasury secretary today by a vote of 60 to 34. But one reporter wondered that if Geithner could get through, why not Wesley Snipes?
  • In Japan, Canon is letting its employees take advantage of a new hump day program where they will allow early dismissal from 12-hour work days in order to help improve the national birth rate.
  • Conan O'Brien will stop Inside the Actor's Studio tonight. Maybe James Lipton will make Conan read K-Fed lyrics this time.
  • After being repeatedly shunned by local businesses during their time in Red Hook, The Real World is heading to friendlier territory and locating next season at the home of many an MTV Spring Break, Cancun.
  • And can you find Diddy in this zoomable panoramic shot of the Inauguration Day crowd?

By the sound of your typing I was amazed that you are a lot taller and darker than I thought you would be Jen.

Jake is so Williamsburg.

Is it me or is the gaunt and down and out look very in these days, especially amongst the Billyburg set? Or is it just really rough times for those in the outer boroughs...

Ye celebrating this year with last year's costume?

It's actually a shirt of a "good luck cat" (maneki neko) and then there are panda mittens and a hood with ears... so it's some sort of good luck cat-panda-creature.

Good luck cat?

What number is that on the take-out menu?

How about a photo credit for the rest of the staff that had to sit through this photo shoot?

Thought for a moment this was another Gothamist t-shirt Jake and Jen were hawking.

But one reporter wondered that if Geithner could get through, why not Wesley Snipes?

Ugh. Because Geithner quickly sought to repair the fact that he'd missed his taxes, while Snipes actively refused to accept he should even have to pay them.

Also: Snipes is an actor not a financial expert????

Nice picture for the founders of Gothamist.

It's like a hoodie footie... but for your hands.

I cracked up @ 'hoodie footie.'

Someone get a hose for the wet t-shirt contest!

Jen is so cute I can't stand it. If only she would dump her well-educated, good looking boyfriend for me.

Jen Chung is hotter in person. Marry me Jen Chung!

Some website this is: we're here pouring our heart and soul out for the benefit of Mankind and you guys are in that office, dropping acid and dressing up like "pandacats".

Jen Chung you're exactly as hot as I imagined...
but I still love my g/f more ;)
