Four teenagers in Queens have been arrested in a series of brutal muggings, one of which was caught in graphic detail on a surveillance video. They are accused of robbing six men in a string of violent incidents over the last two weeks. One of the victims told NY1, "I felt like I was going to die. You panic. You think, how could this be happening to me? You see it in the movies and you really don't think its going to happen to you."
Two of the robberies took place in Long Island City where deliverymen from the Bel Aire Diner were making dropoffs in the area. Through a translator, one of them said, "I thought they had a weapon, that's why I didn't defend myself; I didn't do anything. I let them take my money. I let them take everything because I thought they had the weapon or something."
The four men arrested are ages 18 and 19 from Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx respectively. Below is the video of one of the deliverymen being robbed in a building lobby on January 16. He along with his fellow co-worker and victim have already returned to work at the Bel Aire.

We need to adopt a new law where we just take these thugs out and shoot them in the heads and be done with it. I also like the muslim hacking off their hands for robbery idea. it is ironic who some commenter try to distant themselves from such acts when they probably share some characteristics as these attackers. Animals don't mug, murder, rape and molest their young. It is humans that behave this way.
I'll admit the comparison is somewhat unfair to animals, but I wasn't comparing these thugs' behavior to acts like lying or counterfeiting--things animals are obviously incapable of committing--so much as to the more shocking and repellent actions animals are capable of--incest, cannibalism and eating filth for example. I like animals as much as the next guy, but there's a long, long tradition of calling a heinous act beastly for the simple reason of its being inhuman. Maybe if you'd put down the PETA pamphlets and pick up a book once in a while, you'd understand this.
Animal ways do not always provide an apt model for human morality (see above) and my comparing muggers to animals does not make me "share some characteristics as [sic] these attackers," so please just STFU.

Delivery men are victims of robberies and other crimes a lot more then what's reported. Many of them are fearful of the police because they may be undocumented, while others know that if they do follow up with a report, it will cost them the rest of the day being interviewed or looking at photos. Language issues also discourage many of them. I think that's probably one of the most dangerous jobs in the city.

Agreed.:lots of mexicans are mugged since they carry cash, no credit cards, and work late hours. Also, there is a lot of theft in the subways but unreported since people don't want the hassle of all the paperwork when their stolen items are uninsured for theft. i been a victim twice. They grab my pda and ran so quickly that all I seen was the back of their hoodies.
I can't believe that such decent honor students would ever be involved in anything like this. It's obviously a mistake because seeing their names, I would never imagine they would be so brutal and savage.
