Video: Liam Neeson Would Live in NYC's Horse Stables

Last night Liam Neeson appeared on the Daily Show and he swears carriage horses are treated like kings in New York, in fact, he'd even live in their stables himself! After some back and forth about the topic, Jon Stewart compromised with the actor, saying that if they could build a horse-friendly space in a meadow in Central Park it might be okay. Neeson says horses don't like the freedom of running in fields, however, and declared: "Everyone thinks cows in the fields would rather be running wild—that's bullsh**, horses don't either."

In the above clip you'll hear Stewart tell him: "I don't think living on 52nd and 11th is a holiday for a horse." PETA responded to Neeson as well, saying the comments on the show has them "wondering if one of his horses might have kicked him in the head."

Rumor has it he's hung like one too, so makes sense.

they should put people on his back all day and night while walking around central park.

what a moron, now is not the time to alienate potential viewers of his new movie.

I'm not sure how much crossover there is between PETA activists and Luc Besson action flick fans.

Even the actors you think of as "smart" are embarrassingly stupid.
How do they trick me?

why didn't I see it before? his face looks like a horse, he's hung like a horse, he can speak horse language. Obviously, his mom had sex with the horse king and Liam Neeson is the half human half horse prince of all horses.

Equus has already been cast but he can read as a stand-in, and would be duly compensated with fresh oats.

Yeah, I saw this last night and was hoping that Liam would clarify things by saying something to the effect that he didn't want to see carriage "drivers" (I'm not sure what the proper term is) lose jobs. However, he babbled on that horses were bred to pull carriages and that they take long holidays. Ummm. Stick to acting.

I won't post anymore but here is one fact that Neeson is lying about. These horse are in Traffic during rush hour in 11th ave. Over 50 horses disappear yearly from the service roll. These horses don't have a mandatory retirement home. Central Park has no room for these horses. ASPCA try to have them put in the park and the park does not have the space for them and doesn't want the horses due to the smell and manure. Also, these industry has too much political ties. Our money is spend on cleaning all the manure, on oversight of these horses. the industry does not give anything in return to the city. A carriage driver license is less than 100 dollars for 2 years. I am glad that Stewart brought up some good facts. Except there can not be no compromise. Central park cannot take the horses and also the drivers sue the city when the city tried to restrict the horses to work around the park only. Now you see the horses in time square, rockefeller center. it is Cruel and Tragic.

What will happen to those horses that are presently in use in NYC? If they end up as dog food, they may not think it's such a great solution. I guess what's offensive is in the nose of the beholder. Horse manure is mostly digested hay. The smell isn't particularly offensive to horse lovers.

I liked Taken.

It was like Quantum of Solace except I wasn't as disappointed because it wasn't supposed to be a Bond movie.

the movie is only 94 minutes, for me it is 94 minutes too much.

It's a Luc Besson popcorn action flick.

No more, no less.

Every now and then a horse goes crazy in one of the most congested places on Earth. Who cares about this tradition? It's not worth the risk. Forget the horses: This isn't good for us.

Every now and then a MAN goes crazy in one of the most congested places on Earth.

The obviously solution is for all humans to commit suicide. That should solve it.

Liam's posh 6,000 sq.ft. estate that he would apparently prefer to give up to live in the stables.

Please reconsider spreading his address around. He has children and enough people disturb his privacy. He just lost his wife in a terrible accident.

I forgot his new movie coming out, then I saw the post above.
I liked it the first time when it was called Man on Fire.
doucheass.

Give these Irish bastards a pint of grog and they'll even live in the sewers!

For the people who know nothing about our horses, how they live or how many regulations we have: We have NEVER been cited for cruelty in over 150 yrs. We have 5 stables, 2 of which are state of the art. We make approx 60,000 trips to and from the park (68 carriages with 2 shifts per carriage per day) per year with an overal safety record that the horse racing industry or jumping horses, or any other equine sport can not touch! All of our horses in nyc have box stalls. (which the mounted police horses dont even have)They get ferrier care, worming, and dental and vet care on a schedualed basis...which is all recorded for the city. We are overseen by 5 agencies (we have more regulations and oversight than at-risk children). We have temp restrictions(low 18-high 89), and hr work restrictions (9hrs)which are overseen by the aspca. We send our horses to vacations on farms 3-4 months out of each yr. When our horses are retired they are adopted out through one of 3 adoption programs we use-one is on the homepage of the new york humane society. We are licensed 4 times over (carriage, driver, horse, and stable) We are fully insured. Our horses were trained specifically for this job... PETA is really good at lying to people. their intentions are evil. They want to do away with all human to animal relationships. ALL of them including pets. Its disgusting. If you want the TRUTH you can see my videos on youtube of my horses on my farm and in their stable in nyc and at work. This is the TRUTH. I can prove everything I say....they cant! Please take a look before you believe everything they say.

These horses have no mandatory retirement home and the drivers/owners will never permit the law to require them to retire the horses instead of discarding them for slaughter. Peeba76 from Clinton Stables, where a 8 year old horse named Clancy was found dead, is not mentioned that even the ASPCA wants a ban because the conditions are INHUMANE. Also that they are not overseen by 5 agencies and that the one agencies that should oversee them has failed to do so. Look at the comptroller audit report thats states the horses were underwater, overboarding of passengers, no vet exam etc.

http://www.comptroller.nyc.gov/bureaus/audit/PDF_FILES/MH07_092A.pdf

Those horses have no mandatory retirement homes and the drivers would never allow a law to require the horses to have a retirement home as the police horses. Also Peeba aka Abigial from Clinton stables, where recently a 8 year old horse Clancy was found dead, keeps stating how they have olympic standard stables. Yet not once did they should videos of the jail cell where these horses are housed. Lastly, all peeba76 can do is post videos of anyone who speaks against the cruelty. the industry can't defend the cruelty so they attack the activists instead.

don't listen to the cut and paste guy Peeba76,
notice he resorts to thuggish namecalling to state his case on his youtube site. probably a republican.

Peeba76 is Abigail from Clinton Stables and she is HORRIBLE>

Liam Neeson has more character and decency than anyone on these ridiculous blogs who spend their little tiny pathetic lives being mean and nasty to people they have never met. Whether you agree that the horses should be in NYC or not (and I agree they should be as long as they are treated well...and clearly they are treated well no matter what rhetoric those with extreme views try to convince others of), be nice and respectful. Liam Neeson is a class act and a magnificent actor who has done far more with his life than ANY of the so-called animal activists in this city. Pathetic, all of you.

...so? Does he have a horse cock or not? Because we can't blog about this crap all week.

Same date - Friday, January 30 - NEW TIME - 1PM

THIS INFORMATION IS ACCURATE AS OF 1:30 PM TODAY, JANUARY 26TH - DISREGARD ALL OTHER NOTICES YOU MAY HAVE RECEIVED. We have just been notified of a change in time for the public hearing. Because of that, CM Avella's press conference is also changed. See below.

DATE: Friday, January 30, 2009
PRESS CONFERENCE: 12:00 noon for the Avella Press conference on the steps of City Hall
PUBLIC HEARING - 1:00 PM Council Hearing begins (get there at least 1/2 hour before)
WHERE: City Hall - 2nd floor Council Chambers (there is no street address.) You may enter on either the Broadway or Park Row side.
TRAVEL: All subways stop near City Hall. NOTE: Notices about the hearing sent out by Peta and others have mistakenly indicated incorrect addresses. IT IS NOT AT 250 OR 260 BROADWAY. THE HEARING IS AT CITY HALL - 2ND FLOOR.

We are very distressed about this turn of events and blame it solely on Speaker Christine Quinn and her cronies. This is the second time the Hearing date/time has changed. Either they are totally disorganized - or Quinn is trying to shut us down. PLEASE forward this new information to everyone and PLEASE some out. With Liam Neeson and the Teamsters, we need everyone to stand tall and be there for the carriage horses.

Horses who are safe and sound and can pay their own way as well as earn a living for someone are worth their weight, and they weigh quite a bit, in gold. Do any of you really believe that these horses are mistreated? These horses have been trained to do this job. I don't hear anyone complain about the horses that cowboys ride all day long while out on the range. Don't think about how hard this work would be for you. Humans are physically pathetic compared to these animals. We work, why can't our animals?

What does he say about "__people...on the dole...social security"?
